Indoor Games For Your Littles

Indoor Games For Your Littles

These days, we’re spending more time at home (cabin fever, anyone?). Whether it’s because of school holidays, everyone’s stuck inside avoiding the rain, or you simply want a break from those big activities and trips, it’s still possible (and easy!) to keep the kids entertained. Here are a few tips and tricks that we've picked up along the way for creating extra fun at home. Depending on where you live, some are better for summer or winter, but there are plenty of ideas you can use year-round to help create those magical moments and treasured childhood memories!

Scavenger Hunt in the Home

An easy game to set up (and one that’ll give busy parents a little bit of downtime!) is a classic scavenger hunt. We’ve put together a little list here for you to get you started - just print it out and give each of your little ones a copy. If you’re missing anything on the list, you can always make your own version yourself and substitute different items to find.

The benefits? Kids have a great time finding everything on the list, get a sense of accomplishment when they tick each item off, and they’ll burn off some energy while they’re at it! To make it easier for them to carry everything around, give them a basket to put all their goodies in.

Scavenger Hunt in Nature

If you have a garden space outside and are enjoying some sunny weather, why not take the games outdoors? Rather than collecting all the items, they can pick up the tangible ones like pebbles, sticks, feathers and leaves, then give you a tour to show you the bigger scavenger hunt items once they’ve completed their list!

Plan a Backyard Camp Out!

One for the sunnier months that little ones always love is a backyard campout. It’s a wonderful chance to enjoy the outdoors while still having the comfort of home nearby, but it also fosters their sense of confidence. Whether they venture out on their own, with a sibling, or with a friend for a sleepover, getting ready for their first camping session provides hours of fun.

Help them pack and set up their tent, get the sleeping bags down from storage and bring out plenty of blankets and pillows to make it cosy. Pop everything in their Luggy basket for easy transport and don’t forget their favourite doll for extra comfort! For homes with a fire pit, give our s’mores recipe a try - they’re always a hit.
